INTRODUCING SHEFFSNOW. PROUD TO BE PARTNERS.
SheffSnow are a lively bunch of snowsports enthusiasts that embody the infamous Northern spirit. We are excited to work with them and their club of dedicated après lovers, first-lift catchers, and everyone in between.
Hey there everyone! SheffSnow is one of the biggest (but definitely the most fun) sports clubs in Sheffield. SheffSnow pride themselves on being an inclusive and safe space for everyone. Whether you have been holidaying in the Alps since you could walk, you want to try a new sport, or you just want discounts for all the bars along West Street, SheffSnow is the place for you.
A huge priority for SheffSnow is giving everyone the opportunity to race at Kings, Varsity and AJAM. Every year, SheffSnow support a huge community of people who have never touched dry slope, and give them the confidence to give slalom or freestyle a go. For those of you more interested in the less university-approved side of the club, SheffSnow host bi-weekly socials, with notable events including: pub golf, chicken rush, oldies weekend, Christmas meal.
This year SheffSnow have eleven fresh committee members, ready and raring to go. Going forwards, SheffSnow are hoping to prioritise inclusivity within the club. The inclusions officers have set up a brand new anonymised reporting system to provide a safe space for issues to be addressed.
A huge effort has been made to contact national campaigns and local societies to organise cancer and consent awareness talks for the club throughout the year. Over the two trips this year, SheffSnow aims to build upon the amazing reputation of previous year’s holidays, and increase the number of passengers taken abroad.
To achieve this, SheffSnow are focusing more on fresher involvement by hosting events for solo travellers to find roommates, and introducing speed-dating elements to socials to promote mixing between year groups.
One of the great things about being part of the Uni Snowsports community is the ability to share ideas.
