SSN is Northumbria University’s biggest society, with the sendiest members Newcastle has ever seen! This year, SSN will be offering two of the most unreal ski trips in amazing locations: Alpe d’Huez and Tignes. You don’t have to ski or board to be a member — whether you know the styles as “snowplough” or “pizza,” SSN is the perfect chance to throw on some ski or boarding boots and give it a go.

The society runs weekly trips to Silksworth, where beginners can learn the basics and pros can train for the competition team, who proudly made it to the Kings Races final for the first time last year.

But SSN isn’t just about the slopes. They’re also known for hosting Newcastle’s craziest socials, with themes that will have you laughing, dressing up, and making unforgettable memories. Join SSN for the slopes, the socials, and friends for life!

This year, SSN is back bigger, better, and littier than ever before! After an unforgettable 2024/25 season - reaching the King’s final for the first time, selling out both trips in record time, and welcoming more members than ever - SSN is ready to raise the bar once again!

The new season promises to carry forward last year’s success with a fresh committee that’s ready to keep the famous SSN “spirit” alive…literally. Expect unforgettable trips packed with chaos, socials that live up to Geordie standards, and a committee always ready to help—especially if you’re looking for a drinking buddy!

This year, SSN is also determined to give back more to the community. Look out for exciting charity events supporting local and upcoming causes, and feel free to get in touch if you’d like to collaborate. So, Newcastle students, new or old—what are you waiting for?
