Avoriaz is part of the area that makes up one of the largest ski areas in the world; the Portes du Soleil. It has over a staggering 650km of pistes spread across France and Switzerland.

Types of Ski Pass in Avoriaz

You can get the Avoriaz or the Portes du Soliel skipass. The Avoriaz ski pass allows access to 75 kilometres of pistes within the immediate ski area surrounding Avoriaz. This option is better suited to short stays and weekend retreats etc. The Portes du Soleil pass, on the other hand, grants complete access to the 650 kilometres of ski terrain, including access to the other resorts within the area and across the border in Switzerland. These include the resorts of Morzine, St Jean d’Aulps, Les Gets and La Chapelle-d'Abondance in France. Some of the resorts in Switzerland include Morgins, Les Crosets, Champery and Torgon. Discounts such as the group ski pass or family ski pass can be applied to the Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil ski passes. Other discount values may only apply to one or the other ( Avoriaz or Portes du Soliel passes). For any help or further enquiries, do not hesitate to get in touch.
Avoriaz Group Ski Pass
Duo and Tribu group ski pass discounts are available on the Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil ski pass. The offers are redeemed for groups of 2 or 3 people which allows savings on the total cost per person depending on the group size; a pair (Duo) or three and above (Tribu).
Avoriaz Single and Half Day Ski Passes
There are single and half-day ski passes for both on the Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil ski pass types from 5 hours to a full day. There are also 1-day and 2-day ski passes available for the local ski area. The Portes du Soleil has multiple-day passes up to 14 days.
Avoriaz Children's Ski Pass
Children under the age of 5 are eligible to qualify for a free ski pass in Avoriaz. Free ski passes can only be claimed upon presentation of proof of age. Free ski passes are also only redeemable at the ticket offices on the resort and cannot be obtained online.

The beginner ski passes are only available at the ski pass offices and grant access to the following lifts; Prodains cable car; Plateau, Tour, Zore, Seraussaix, Proclou, Léchère and Dromonts chairlifts; Thrashers, Baron, Barmettes and Chapelle drag lifts; Super Morzine and Ardent gondolas.

The easiest lift pass office to locate is the Promenade des Festivals located close to the Tourist office at the town centre. How Do Ski Passes Work in Avoriaz?
The Ski passes in Avoriaz function very similarly to most ski passes you would encounter on ski resorts across Europe.
The ski passes are electronically credited onto a smart card which is equipped with a chip for information storage. The card functions similarly to most digital cards with a swipe function at turnstiles and lift barriers. They are hands free activated and can be kept in a front pocket or ski jacket sleeve-pocket for easy activation when within proximity of a turnstile.
Can I Pre-book My Avoriaz Ski Pass?
Yes, your Avoriaz ski pass can be pre-booked very easily with us.

We recommended it as we believe it is a very convenient way to secure your lift pass prior to your arrival at the ski resort. You will also get some of the best rates and avoid queuing for long hours.

What About Pedestrian Ski Passes in Avoriaz?
Are you just visiting Avoriaz for the stunning view? Are you perhaps more interested in a snowy wander through the mountains?
You’re still more than welcome! Pedestrians and cross-country skiers have separate rates for single or return journeys. Avoriaz in particular has 7 lifts available for pedestrian and cross-county use in the Avoriaz ski area. Pedestrian lift passes can only be purchased at the ski offices on the resort; they are not available to purchase at the bottom of the lifts.
